O.k, finally a little time to show you the step-by-step process for this "technique" I came up with. Now, if this is the first time you're reading my blog... please excuse my un-educated stamping "techniques"... I have stated it before and will say it again... I am NOT a stamper, don't know any real techniques... never took a class on stamping, just like to play in my scrapbook room and see what I come up with! Half the time they aren't much to show and they definately DON'T get pictures taken of... lol...
So this one I thought turned out pretty good and I liked it enough to call it a "technique" even though I really wouldn't go so far to teach this in a class... And again, sorry it took me so long to get this up on here. It's been over a week, I know, but life has a funny way of "butting" in...
Here again is a picture of the album and some close-ups of the pieces I played around with:
Supplies:
Tattered Angels Chipboard
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
Tim Holtz Distress Ink & ink spots??
Clear Embossing Powder
Staz-on Ink in White
Heat Embossing Tool
So to start, I took the TA Chipboard and inked it with the little ink "spot" and Tim Holtz Distress ink:
I don't know what that little thingie is called but it's one of my new best friends! ;)-
Next, I took the TA Glimmer Mist and sprayed it over the inked chipboard:
Now I LOVE Glimmer Mist but... I wish I would have had the Tim Holtz ink mist (don't know the name again...) because it's the same thing basically but without the "glimmer" part... I think that would be nice sometimes when you don't want the shimmer, but more of a distressed look...
After I heat embossed the ink with the heat tool, I took the Staz-on ink and just lightly rubbed the sided and top with it. I didn't want the whole thing covered but as you can see on the pages in the album, some are more then others and that's fine too...
Before the ink dries, you want to take the embossing powder and pour over the chipboard. I used a very thick clear powder but you could use any type.
Then I shook off the excess and put that in another plate and used the heat embosser again to set the embossing powder. O.k.... I just saw the picture of the "powder" and it actually says it's Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel?? Here's what it turns out like:
Now every piece I did was a little different as you can see from above and the pictures on the previous post... That's because I am not an educated "stamper" and I'm learning as I go... Each piece I put a little more white ink on so they have different tones.
Before I go, I do want to mention someone who IS a stamp QUEEN and I am inspired by her everytime I see her work! Her name is Irene Tan and she's on the same Clear Scraps Design Team as I am and I'm sooo happy to have "met" here through that and love how creative she is! Just go check out her blog for the REAL DEAL on stamping techniques! Just promise me you'll come back here once in a while... (Once you're blown away by her you may not want to ;)- Here's her blog: http://scrapperlicious.blogspot.com/ Tell her I said Hi if you leave a comment! Oh, and she's going to be my GUEST DESIGNER for the June kits! You won't want to miss those kits!!! I'm doing a VERY GLAM kit with Heidi Swapp, Tim Holtz, Teresa Collins and more! Maybe I'll all it the "celebrity kit" seeings how they're all "celebrities" in the Scrapbooking World!
I'm hoping Irene can also come to CHA sometime in the future. She actually lives in Malaysia but she just told us that Tim Holtz asked her to design work for him! Is that the coolest or what? So she may be coming to the states soon and if she teaches a class, you are going to want to be signed up for that one! I was checking on her blog yesterday I think and I noticed she had a technique for a "water" look that I thought looked pretty close to what I came up with! That's pretty cool to me because I actually feel like my "technique" may be close to the REAL DEAL! hehehe...
O.k. I'm off to finish a little mini album I'm going to have up for sale tomorrow! I just can't seem to stop ladies... I'm soooo inspired by the products I order I want to make it ALL!
Here's a little sneak from Deb Famularo that she sent me today from the Main Kit:
Is that just adorable!!! Now she mixed some things from both kits and an add-on...
Here's another layout from the Deb using the "coffee kit"
This kit is sooo fun and different from the normal kits I do! It will be the project kit for this month but it has SOOO MUCH in it that you can make LOTS of layouts, the project kit AND more...
I'm off to finish the mini album...
Oh, by the way... the Chatterbox "Easy Brad Maker" is going to go like HOTCAKES... It will sell for $26.95 and I only ordered 6 because I didn't know how many people would want one and they are kind of pricey. After hearing all the excitement, I made a call to Chatterbox to order some more and I hopefully I can get some more before I mail out the kits next Friday! So get one QUICK if you want one!! By the way, they do sell refill packs for $7.95 that I will order once they are available in April/May.
See you all here tomorrow! Check back before 6PM because I'll probably be posting some more BEAUTIES from the Design TEam to get you all excited! AND, I might have a little surprise GIVEAWAY!!
Hugs to all,
Laura

I was just going to comment that it was Saturday here and I'm ready for my kit, BUT! I am so excited I can tell you an answer.
1. The "thingy" is a dauber. Most people use them on top of acrylic ink bottles-but I can see where it would be wonderful with ink.
I love your highly technical terms. I use them myself. Once I told my boss I was going to the hardware store because I needed one of those flapper things for the toilet. He laughed at me-well guess what? They are called flappers!

I love to play with my stamps embossing, using chalk, and now I get to use something else! See You this afternoon, but I don't think I could get on of those brad makers so you don't have to hold one for me. Maybe later on I can get one!
