One last thing on this Halloween Night!

I forgot all about this... I was keeping this to show you on Halloween and I almost forgot!  It's one last October project from one of the Design Team members!  It's a Halloween album from the Very Vintage Halloween Kit:

If you saw my post yesterday about a little girl with an in-operable brain tumor, I wanted to update you.  I just got an email from her mother that Ellie had to go into the hospital today!  She has a fever and low while blood cell count.  PLEASE LIFT UP HER FAMILY IN PRAYER TODAY!

Now this kit is still a work in progress.  Like I mentioned before, Pink Paislee let me have the real "scoop" on this product and mailed my box before anyone else!  So you guys have an opportunity to grab this product BEFORE it's even in the stores!  Pretty cool huh?  The only issue is that when I photographed this kit, I only had little bits of the sample papers Rebecca from PP gave me!  I should have put the kit together and taken the pictures BEFORE I played with it but then that would just be too smart for me! lol...  ALSO, what you are seeing IS NOT THE COMPLETE KIT!  It is missing the rub-ons, the journaling sheet from PP and some Jenni Bowlin as well!  So I will be RETAKING THE PHOTO once everything arrives!  Which hopefully will be today or tomorrow!

My Pink Paislee Christmas Tree!

O.k.  Now that I have your attention...

I wanted to tell you about something on the serious side first.  I got an email from one of my members this morning and she just wanted to tell me how much she loves my kits and how they help inspire her to create during a rough time in her family.  You see, she told me her dear daughter as an in-operable brain tumor!  I can't even imagine the pain that you would go through when you find out something like this about one of you children!!!  Needless to say, this mom doesn't get much time to scrap now but when she does, she enjoys how it clears her mind and makes her happy to create lasting memories!

Well, that moved me to tears because I remember as a 9 year old little girl, sitting on my parents bed one night when they told my brother and I that my Dad had a brain tumor.  We didn't know what that was or how serious it was but we knew something was up.  Little did we know that he kept a secret from us, even from my mom!  He was told that he would NOT survive the surgery and that if he did, he would be a VEGTABLE!  Could you imagine getting that kind of news!  He was told to get everything in order for his family and he kept ALL of that from my mom, even as he was rolled into the operating room!!!

BUT... By the Grace of God... He lived!  And, he wasn't a vegtable!!  He still had part of the brain tumor left b/c it was behind the optic nerve and they couldn't reach all of it.  He went back to work and took care of his family for the rest of the time we were kids!  He had another surgery about 10 years later and lots of radiation treatments but he is still alive and we are so thankful to the Lord for letting us have our Dad!  We saw the hand of God in this miracle and I just pray that you will pray for this little girl to also experience a miracle in her life!  Her name is name is Ellie and you can read more about her on this website:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elliewillaert 

Needless to say, this touched my heart and  I wanted to share her story and how it hits so close to home. 

Now onto a brigher note... I finally took some pictures of the tree:

 

The lighting isn't the best but you get the idea...  I used the Pink Paislee Tinsel Town paper that is in one of the November Kits!!!  I love how "BLINGISH" it is!!!  I also used some Clear Scraps Ornaments, lots of Magic Mesh (very fun on acrylic) and some PINK vintage (meaning really old) ornaments!  Oh and also LOTS of Pink Paislee Pixie Stix! (that's in the kit too)

I finished my Pink Paislee Tree!

I stayed up until midnight last night finishing my Pink Paislee Christmas Tree!  It turned out like a crazy VINTAGE BLING TREE!!!  I don't know how fabulous it is, but it's me and I Love It!!  I'm tweaking the photos right now because the lighting wasn't great today.  I tried several places outside and inside but I'm going to pick the best one and post it on here in a little while.

I will also be updating my Kit Club Gallery on the website with some GREAT new projects and layouts for the November Kits!  I'm so excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas to come!

Hello to all of you who are checking back to see if the kits are up!  ;)-

I don't have them together yet but will try to get them up by tonight!  I haven't recieved the shipment yet from Pink Paislee so my "Reveal" picture of that kit will not be complete!!!  Please note this when you look at the "Christmas is coming to Town" kit!!  I will have a note of this as well but it will be even MORE ROCKED OUT than the pictures show!!!  How cool is that!

Here's Isabella with her OWN birthday cake!  She decorated it ALL BY HERSELF! lol...  She had so much fun and I took pictures of her decorating it that are too cute!!  She had so much fun on her birthday party day and she's even playing with her new toys right now... in her "Alice in Wonderland" outfit she got for her birthday!

Well, I'm going to go finish all the painting from the Kit Sale so I can get those in the mail and move on to the November Kits.

I promise I'm not ignoring you...

I've just been getting things organized!  I had my parents over for the weekend to celebrate Isabella's birthday and when they left today, I decided to put all my "Kit" stuff in the guess bedroom!  I just can't stand the living room & dining room looking like a whirlwind went through it so I'm moving everything to the guest bedroom.  I figure I only have them over or Lance's parent over 1-2 times a month for a couple days so I'll keep the bed in their but "set-up" shop in there too!

I also went down to It's About Time... to see how the ladies are doing and the sale is still going on!  It ends tomorrow, Tuesday, so if you haven't been in yet, hurry on down!  They are closed today, but will be open tomorrow!  She also said that after the sale is over, they will be accepting Michaels & JoAnn's coupons on Wednesday AND that all the Halloween decor is 75% off!   I'm also going to be teaching a Christmas Banner Class there at the end of November so make sure you sign up for the class!  It's going to be ALL OUT VINTAGE INSPIRED!!!  I can't wait and I might just make the banner tonight!  I found this beautiful greenery garland that had some glittery stuff in it that totally looked vintage.  Not silver and not gold, but an antique champagne!  It totally rocks and I'm using THAT for the banner!!!  Then I'm going to hang some mini shadowboxes from it and snowflakes and a bird!!!  Too fun!! It will be very vintage and classic colors of Cream/Champagne, Red and the greenery!  So save your pennies ladies cuz this one is for all my vintage friends!

I will have a real "Sneak Peek" coming REAL SOON!  I have to wait on the Pink Paislee since I don't have the papers yet, but I can show you a "mock up" of some of the stuff and you can always check out their website:  www.pinkpaislee.com to see the complete Tinsel Town line! 

I'll also be emailing all the member on the 28th to give you a heads up on the kits and all the 411 for the November kits!

I played with paint until 11:30pm last night and have lots more to go!  I am in the process of starting three new projects and I can't WAIT to show you!  The first one is I'm taking the wood from the "Garden of Love" and turning it into a Christmas Theme!!!  Think "Good Cheer" for December (hint, hint)...  The second project is a Tree for Christmas using the Pink Paislee Tinsel Town!!! (Think "Create Tree")  and the third one is the Mica I played with on the House Album!  I want to show you how much I got done yesterday... I did all the pages like the clear one I showed you but on some of the pages I did the Mica on the back side of the page...  I also stamped a tree on the front page (PP Tinsel Town stamps) BEFORE I put the Mica on it and then I painted with puffy paint on each roof top...  Here's what it looks like BEFORE I go to town on it with the Tinsel Town papers and embellishments for the November kit:

 

Does that just look yummy???  I can't wait to show you the finished project!! And take a look at that GIANT bag of Mica snow!!!  I only used about a tablespoon on the whole album... I think a little baggy full will go a LONG way for any projects you have in mind for the Holidays!

Well, this is the first day this week without any kids home so I am going to go get some errands done and then finish up some projects and painting.  I just dropped off 6 more boxes at the Post Office so right now all the orders are shipped EXCEPT the ones that ordered the Shadowbox or the "Our Nest".  I'm trying to finish up the painting on all of those this weekend and get those out early next week.

My email is down!

I wanted to let everyone know that the server site is having a problem and I'm not getting my emails!  My hubby has one of the programers at the server site with the HP guy and they are trying to fix it (they said it smelled like melting metal... not good...) and it should be fixed in a day or so...

I've been painting away today and kind of veered from the paint job into a fun hour of Mica Snow!!!  I bought 4 lbs of it for the November & December kits and wanted to see how it would look on the Clear Scraps House Album!  So, I tried two different approaches.  The first is a dud to me but you may like it...

 

I took Hylmars?? glue and spread it over the whole page with a popsicle stick then put the Mica Snow over and shook it off.  It was pretty thick and could see through very good.  I then put the paint on the top and played with a little PP Glitter but didn't like it.  Then I added more paint on top and embossing powder and heated it ever so slightly to puff it up.  Not the winner by far but thought I would show you the process...  The stamp was done first before the Mica but then I stamped over it again so it would show up better.  This page looks like the Peppermint Ice-cream cake we make every year for a "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake on Christmas day so I might use it with a picture of the cake and a Peppermint candy on top!

So, this one is the winner to me...

 

This one I used Zip Dry and applied it in the same way with a popsicle stick and then sprinkled on the Mica Snow.  I then rubbed some of it off so it was a very thin layer. (I'd use gloves if you do this...)  Then I did the white puffy paint at the top and DID NOT heat emboss.  I like this technique a LOT better and you can even see the glass behind the page that is holding it up for the picture.  I LOVE the look of this and can't wait to make the album with the pages like this!  It gives it a real Vintage look! 

So this Mica Snow will be coming to you in the November Kit AND I think I'll have plenty left over to have in one of the December Kits as well!  It's really fun and easy to use and I plan on using it on this album, glass ornaments, my Clear Scraps ornaments, a Christmas Tree I'm doing for December AND these totally vintage 3D boxes (like my Ghoulfriends) that I'm doing for a Christmas banner or seperate ornaments for the tree! Yes, I'm going to be very busy...as usual... I just have way too many ideas in my crowded brain and not enought time to do them (or sometimes not enough space in there to remember them! hee-hee)

Hi ladies!

I just wanted to let you know that I posted the "Tis the Season" album on www.twopeasinabucket.com if you wanted to see the whole album!  I just posted it so you can go check it out on the first page for a little while longer...

I've had a LOT of you interested in a mixed up album like the Tis the Season one but I think it's going to be too cost prohibative... I'd have to open up 5 albums to make it and then those albums wouldn't be really usable.  It's because each of those albums have other shaped pages like the House album.  I could only use 1 page from the album and the other 4 wouldn't have the page with the chimney that I took from it?? Do you understand??  So, I might be able to do a few but not sure of the price on it.

BUT, I am in the process of making another CHRISTMAS HOUSE ALBUM like the one I did last year in my gallery.  I'm going to use the Pink Paislee Tinsel Town on it in a very similar way but BLING IT OUT to the MAX!!!  With the one on Twopeas, I had to tone it down a little because it's being taught all over the U.S. for the Clear Scraps VIP program.  I wasn't able to use a lot of the goodies in the November kit so this house will be more representative of the Tinsel Town Kit.

I hope that makes sense...

OH... I WANTED TO WISH MY DARLING ISABELLA A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

She turned 4 today!  I can't believe it!!  Where the time goes, I have no idea!!!  She wasn't happy this morning though because she doesn't  want to be 4!  She told be 4 is a yucky number and she wants to be 3 still!  So I tried to persuade her that 4 was cool and she gets to have a party and presents and cake... She wants all of that of course, but not the numer 4!  So, I told her she can have the party and everything and she can just pretend she's still 3 until she's ready to be 4!!! lol...(she has quite to independent spirit...)

 

Happy Birthday to my baby...not such a baby anymore... I LOVE YOU!!!

I'm trying to get things done on the Kit Sale items but today I'm not getting too much done.  With Rebecca still home sick and Isabella's birthday I'm affraid I won't be mailing out much today. 

Also,  those of you who orderd the Shadow Boxes, Our Nest or Garden of Love, those will take me a little time to get together.  I need to paint all of those and I'm going to try to get some painting done right now while the girls are napping but I don't know how much I can get done.  So those kits will not get out until next week probably.

I mailed out quite a few yesterday though and I have about 7 more I'm mailing today after I pick up Victoria from school!  Oh and if anyone wants to order something and wait for me to ship it with your November kit, that would be fine too!  I've had a couple people ask me that and it will save on shipping so email me if you want to wait and I'll check to see if yours has already shipped or not!  If you do want to do that, then when you order your November Kit just pay for the shipping so you don't miss out on something and I'll just refund you the difference of what the combined shipping would be minus what you paid on both orders!  Make sense?? 

O.K.  I'm off to paint...

Middle of the week blues...

Well, not really the blues, just have a ton to do today and I still have 1 sick kid at home and I'm not feeling fabulous.  And, since it's the middle one, I can't leave her home alone and go do the errands I so desperately need to do!!!

But, off my soapbox... I am excited that my pumpkin album is on the Top 10 at www.twopeasinabucket.com if you want to go check it out AND vote!  And those are the pictures from my iPhone when I was in San Antonio.  They turned out pretty good huh??  Oh and one of the ladies who left a comment on it had a little blinkie for "faith sisters"??  I've never heard of them but I checked out their blog and I'm so excited about them.. I need to look at it more but it sounds so cool and it's all about sharing your faith through scrapbooking!  Very cool because I LOVE when I can combine my faith and my hobby!!!  Let me know if any of you have seen this website/blog before??

Another thing I wanted to tell you about is this project I was working on for Clear Scraps!  I was very honored to be asked by J&J to come up with a class kit for their November kits they send out to all the stores who have signed up for their VIP club!  It's really cool and I'm excited that I can share with you the finished album!!

I took several different albums of theirs and took them apart and used just one page from each of them.  Plus I added a CS tag and decorative frame.  It was really fun making it and  I hope that the stores will LOVE it!  So here are a few pages:

This kit will include Pink Paislee Tinsel Town, American Crafts Thickers in the silver shapes you see here, the flower dictionary flowers I had my Etsy friend do in colors to match,  some Prima flowers and lots and lots more!!!  The album choice for this kit will be the Clear Scraps House Album, not a mixed up one like this...  But, if you want something like this, you can ask me nicely and I might be able to accomodate a few kits like this...

Well, I have to get my kiddo better and me NOT sick!!  I'm going to work on getting as many kits out as I can today but I can't guarantee I'll get all of them out...

Update of the Kit Sale...

O.k.  I put up four kits today and it seemed like it took me an eternity!!!  Boy, with sick kids in the house things take FOREVER to get done!

So here's pictures of the last two kits for today.  Todays kits are all from Anna Griffen and I've added some great things to some of them. 

 

This one is a beautiful "Floral Vintage" theme and has tons of little goodies!  There's 22 or 23 pieces of patterned Anna Griffin paper in this kit!!

 

This one is a really fun Cherry & Lemon theme and has to be one of my favorite Anna Griffin lines!  It's just so darn fun!  You can use it for summer or a kitchen theme or cooking or for a cute lemonade stand layout!  You'll see the GREAT prices on these kits and they won't last long so grab them fast!

I'm going to go tend to the girlies and hope I don't get sick too!

I'll try to post more tomorrow or late tonight.  This is probably going to be an ongoing thing for me because as I go through my scrapbook room and realize how MUCH I have, I can't possibly clean out and make kits in just 1 week!  So all the better for you ladies though!  I'll just keep up the Kit Sale section and you can keep checking back from time to time...

UPDATE on an update... Yup, that's me ;)-

I just wanted to say that tomorrow I will not be putting any kits up because I want to mail out all the kits that have been ordered thus far!  I have way more than I realized and it will take me some time to get them together and mailed out.  So that is going to be my focus tomorrow.  If you want to purchase a kit today or tomorrow that's GREAT because I will be shipping them out tomorrow!  Thanks, Laura

This Tuesday I'm loving the fact that I'm getting organized and making kits for you!!!

Here's one of the Anna Griffin Kits I made:

 

It has 14 pieces of paper AND a whole set of the My Mind's Eye Letters!  I LOVE those letters and they were hard to part with (I have a few more ;)- but those letters look FABULOUS with Stickles on them!  This kit has a piece of cardstock in the back that's hard to see but is a tent for your layout!  You just cut along the lines to make it!  I actually have instructions that came with the Anna Griffin papers if you want to see them but I've added a TON more stuff so you can do so much more!  There's also a lot of flowers but they are hard to see in this picture!

So, I have lots more kits I'm making today and they will all have Anna Griffin papers in them today!  I will try to post these a little bit later today but I have all three girls home today!  The two oldest have fevers, coughs and sore throats... not fun...

I'm so glad to see you guys are liking the kits and I'm just glad that I can clean out my scrapbook room and get my over abundant supplies put to good use!!!!

Hi everyone and a good Monday morning to YA'LL!  (I still can't get over that Texas thing... :)-  I wanted to quickly get an update on the blog so here goes...

I'm going to be posting some more SALE KITS TODAY!!!  I did a little work on some kits last night and also went through some past class kits to see exactly what I have left.  I won't go into detail, but I do have some great kits left that I will try to get up today and all through this week!  I am amazed at how much I have!  I think I might also sell "paper kits"...  I have lots of paper left over from past kits that don't have the embellishments so I think I might just sell this paper to make room for the new stuff coming in. 

If you have already ordered a kit AND you see something you want this week, let me know and I'll hold off shipping them so we can combine the shipping. I'm packaging the kits up that were sold last week but if you buy something today or in the next couple days, I will hold your kit if you want me to so you can get the kits together.  Also, don't wait to get a kit if you see something you like, they are going super fast!  I can give you a credit on the shipping so don't worry about that, just grab the kit and I'll combine the shipping and give you a credit for the difference!

Hi Y'all...!

Hi from San Antonio!!  It's so beautiful here and the Riverwalk is so charming and unique!  At first I felt like I was in the Blue Buyou at Disneyland because it has that feel but once you keep walking down the path and see all the beautiful stone bridges and twists and turns in the river, it's so amazing! 

Yesterday was the first day of the ADA show my husband is at so I was on my own wandering the street and shops...  I walked down part of the Riverwalk and then went to a mall right in the heart of it and did some shopping for the kids.  Then I went and had lunch at one of the TexMex restaurants out on the river, all my myself.  It wasn't too bad though b/c I brought my Paris guidebook and read some of that while I was eating lunch.  Then I went up to my room and finished the Pumpkin album I've been making with a Clear Scraps album.  I'm going to try to post the pictures but I forgot my CAMERA... so the pictures are from my iphone!  Let me go see if I can do this...

I was barely out on the balcony but wanted to take pictures of the album I finished in the hotel room yesterday and the light was much better out there...

I walked around the Alamo and inside the "fort"  or mission.  It was used as both...

 

 

It was really cool and I think tomorrow Lance and I are going to go down there and look at it some more.  I even saw a toy store that had little toy soldiers from all the different battles and thought of my brother... He would LOVE to be here right now!

But, on to scrapbooking...

I'm in the room again today after going to the Alamo and I'm working on another album for J&J at Clear Scraps.  They've asked me to design a kit for their November kits they send to the stores that have signed up and I'm making one with all different album pieces to make one album.  Kinda fun and funky...

Before I get back to that (and watch a movie) I wanted to show you a "sneak peek" of one of the November kits!!!  This is the pumpkin album I made with some of the November kit products...

 

Here's my "Pumpkin"... I used one of the cirlce albums from Clear Scraps that has a flat top and I kind of made it into a pumpkin with the textured green paper on the top as the stem...

Hi ladies...

I said I would do an update on things before I left for San Antonio. Wow, I'm amazed at how fast so much of the stuff in the sale went!!  I added a couple things tonight but I'm almost sold out of everything! 

I will be back on Sunday and will try to devote a lot of next week to getting my scrapbooking room organized AND making more kits!  I do have a couple kits left from past months that aren't up yet and I'll be making lots of the "Laura's Treasures" kits so check back and see what pops up in the "Kit Sale!!!"

I'm off to pack for my little trip... Say a prayer for safety for my hubby and I AND the kids here at home.  Not a fan of flying or leaving the kids...

Just a quick update...

Here's all my goodies from Sunday's Rose Bowl Flea Market...

 

So I know you can't see everything upclose but let me tell you... I got some GREAT stuff for the kits!

First, I got two very old Christmas song books that I plan to "lovingly" tear up and give each one of you a sheet of!  They have really fabulous pictures on one of them so use that somewhere too!  Then, I got a 1950's Frosty the Snowman book!  I hate to tear out the pages on that one but... I might.  There's a blue book you can't see real well but it's from 1931 and it's called "Tony's Scrapbook"!!!  Can you believe it??  How cool is that?  It's all old poems and songs and little sayings!  That one will be a great book to use for altered layouts or projects!

I got lots of postcards but sorry ladies, those I'm keeping! ;)-  The colored ones are from a FAMOUS movie set designer!  I even got the business card from the person who is was from!  The guy said she went to Europe in the 1920's when she was only 17 and bought a TON of these post cards and he got the whole lot of them!  Very cool huh?  They are hand panted postcards of Venice, Milan, the Spanish Steps in Rome and they are so dear to my heart I won't be able to part with those...

Here's a close up of some of the goodies:

Look at the red tray would you!!!  My favorite color in the world in RED and I saw this tray and didn't care how much it was ($20) I HAD to have it!  (my hubby later said I needed to calm down and don't act so willing to buy... it's called negotiating... ;)-  I don't know if it's old or not but the tray has a lace cut pattern and it folds up for storage and it's adorable and I can use it for Christmas or Valentines or cookies or SCRAPBOOKING!!!  I don't care... I LOVE IT!!!

And, as you can see, I have LOTS of little goodies on the tray already!  These are for my December Christmas kits!!  I found a lady there that had a ton of old Christmas seals still in the packaging!  So I got Santas, Poinsettias, snow covered houses, red christmas mittens, little squirrels and also some milk bottle tags... Be ready for a Very Vintage Christmas Kit!

 

This picture shows an old English "Bisquit Box" that my hubby found. Isn't is cool?  I look the lady on there, reminds me of the movie "Mary Poppins".  It's going to go in the kitchen on my ledge above the cabinets.

The "Paris" book is probably my favorite find at the Rose Bowl.  I don't know if I can part from this either. (sorry ladies...) This is a postcard booklet that has 24 very old post cards never used and each one is seperated by a layer of tissue paper!  It has some GREAT postcards in there and maybe I'll take a picture of some of them because I don't know what year these are from but the cars in the photo are mostly NOT CARS but HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGES!!!  And if you look at some of the buildings, they are not even in Paris anymore! Very old and I'd say this book was from the very early 1900's!

So there's my little treasures... I think I'm addicted to this hobby and I might have to find some places I can go hunt for more!

Anyone know where I could look in San Antonio???

I'm off to San Antonio tomorrow until Saturday night!  I'm going away with my hubby for his business and we have a lovely hotel on the "Riverwalk" so I'm going to enjoy some time in Texas! 

I will be bringing along my computer and doing some work on the projects for November and for Clear Scraps while I'm there so feel free to email me if you need anything. 

Oh... I wanted to mention the Kit Sale!!!

I don't have all of them up yet and I don't know how many more I can put up before I leave because I've got a TON to do today to get ready for my trip!  I also was a little bit overly optimistic on the sale because I opened PANDORA'S BOX!!!  I have sooooo much that I want to clear out of my scrapbook room that I don't know how I thought I could do that in 1 day! 

So... I'm going to stay with the 40% sale until the end of the month BUT... the stuff I'm clearing out now... that is going to be an ongoing thing!  I think I'd like to come up with a name for it so you can help me if you want... I might have a new button on the website and the blog for this because I'd like to keep it on-going.  Maybe "Laura treasure boxes" of something???  I don't know... These kits will be either themed like Beach, Christmas, Baby, etc...  or color coordinated.   Each one will be one-of-a-kind and I'm still trying to figure out how to do that without having to take pictures of each thing with the descriptions.  I'll probably just take pictures of each one but not put descriptions since I really don't want this to be a huge undertaking for me.  And, if you would like me to put a kit together for you that is a specific theme or color scheme, just email me.  I have 14 years worth of goodies PLUS all my vintage finds from my mom's antiquing and mine over the years!  It's waaaayyy too much and I need to make room for my kit club purchases now.  I'm spilling out from my "scrapbook room" into the kitchen, the living room, the dining room and more!  It's kinda crazy here so that's the motivation for this!  Everyone benefits!

I'm going to work on getting a few of these "one-of-a-kind" kits together and take some photos so you can see the general idea of them before I have to pack and get ready for San Antonio.

Some of the kits are already sold out on the Kit Sale page so when I go live with the Paypal buttons you might not see some.

I will post a little bit tonight before I go to bed and give everyone an update of the kits and whatever else...

Update on sale...

I've got sooo much I'm putting up on the sale page that I cdon't think I will get it all done by tonight.  I just wanted to give a heads up to everyone that the sale will be on the past months kits (not October's) and any of the Kits on my website's "Chic Boutique" page.  I'm also coming up with LOTS of random kits right now that have a TON of goodies in them and that is what is taking me so long!  I will post most everything on this blog by late tonight but there may be some items that won't be on until tomorrow...

If you have any questions you can certainly email me.  But as of right now, the only things that will be on Sale are the past month's kits (and I have a few more past months kits than are listed) AND the kits in the "Chic Boutique" AND the kits that I'm coming up with right now!

Mondays are a good day for a sale...right?

Hi everyone!  I had a great time over the weekend in LA but I'm back and trying to get organized... And, there is just no other way to do that then to get some things out of the way for the NEW and AWESOME November & December kits coming your way!

SO... I'm having a sale!  Yup, my very first sale and I'm really excited!!!  I'm working on the details now and I'll get back on here when everything is up and ready to purchase.  But here's some details...

So back to my fabulous LA weekend... We had sooo much fun and went EVERYWHERE!  Our hotel was the Renissance Hotel that is connected to the Kodak Theatre where the Academy Awards are!  Didn't even know that until we walked outside and around the corner and BAM!!!  there was the Kodak Theater, Manns Chinese Theatre and Sunset Blvd. with the "Walk of Fame"!  Pretty cool huh! Well, we walked around there on Friday and there's all these "stars" dressed up to be look-alikes and so I got one of my hubby with his favorite "Rock Star"

 

Isn't that funny!  My hubby has his lip curled up like the real Elvis always did (Dh saw him in concert when he was about 11 so he's a huge fan)

Then, in the same area there is an outdoor mall connected to the Kodak and we looked up and saw this:

 

The HOLLYWOOD sign, behind me!  It was very close so we asked the front desk if there is a way to get up there... She handed me a little flyer that listed turn by turn so we drove up there.  It took us about 5 minutes to get there...

 

We were literally right below it!  It was so cool and we were all by ourselves!  You couldn't really climb up there but here's me in front of it...

 

Then that night we went to Rodeo Drive and were surprised to fnd all the stores closed at 6pm!  You'd think they'd stay open a little later than that on a Friday night??  So we drove around and parked and found an Il Fornaio restaurant and enjoyed dinner there. 

The next day I wanted to go to the "Farmers Market" in LA for breakfast b/c I had hear of Giada from the food network talk about these awesome donuts!  So we found the place and let me tell you, it's like stepping back in time!  It has such a great "Vintage" feel and if you EVER come to LA it's a MUST!!!  It really isn't a "farmers   market" but more of a small indoor/outdoor ??? I don't even know what to call it.  It has all these food shops/trinket shops and food stands where you can buy meat, nuts, cheeses, coffee, etc...It was SO COOL!! I would KILL to have something like this in my neighborhood!  So here are some pictures of the LA Farmers Market:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My hubby was pretending to take a picture of me but he was actually taking a picture of this girl who we think is the witch in "Wicked"...

So after that we went to the "Grove" which is actually connected to it and is an outdoor mall kind of like Fashion Island in Newport Beach.  It's beautiful and it was a great day outside, just the perfect Fall breeze.  We saw a movie at their movie theatre, had lunch at Morrels French Restaurant and then decided to drive to Malibu!

Had such a nice drive on PCH going through Santa Monica and Malibu.  It's so beautiful there I can see why it's such a hot spot to the wealthy.  It made me miss my Laguna Beach days!  Why we moved from Laguna Hills, I will never understand?? Maybe someday we can move back...

But Malibu was beautiful and we stopped at a small shopping area where Rachel Ashwell "Shabby Chic" lady has a shop and I got some of her "Wish" tickets!  Then we drove back down the beach and stopped at "Dukes" for dinner and dessert!  It was so beautiful right there on the beach and we watched these surfers who have kites attached so them so they are surfing as well as lifting up off the water!  It was really cool and of course I forgot to take any pictures until they had already left!

After we got back to Hollywood we stopped in at Borders Bookstore and sat there for about 3 hours and just chilled with some books and coffee!  That was soooo fun... I mean when do you have that amount of time to do NOTHING???  So we looked at books on Italy and France the whole time and started getting an itinerary together for our 20th wedding anniv. trip next summer!  I think I've got Lance excited about it now too! 

But yesterday was probably my "fav" day because going to the Rose Bowl was sooo much fun and even though it was a LOT of walking, every booth you go to you are wondering what treasures await... 

 

I swear I didn't wear the same clothes under that jacket each day! ;)-

 

Here I am in search mode.... Hunting down the "goods"...

AND, since I had sooo much fun hunting and searching out these little treasures I found... I'm going to save them for my "Love, Tuesday Post!!!!"

It's torture... I know.... so come back tomorrow and check out what I got! (and what might be in the next kits!)

Here's what I'm lovin' this tuesday...

The other thing I did today was...I mailed out more Kits!  I think I'm pretty much up to date now... I still have some kits left so feel free to shop away!  You'll see I have sold out of most of the Kit#1 - Very Vintage Halloween but I still have a few left of the add-ons.  I'm also sold out of the Kit #2 - Extra Goodies.  You can email me if you want to know what I have left or want me to make a "special kit" with what I have left...

I forgot to put up the listing for the American Craft Albums I have!!!  If you are at all interested in them, I can email you an invoice.  I have the 12x12 cloth D-ring Albums in Black, Red, Vanilla and Pink.  They are 18.00 each and they come with a set of 10 -12x12 page protectors.  I've also got different sizes page protectors at:$3.50 each for a set of 10.  They come in 6x6, 8x8, 6x12 and 12x12.  It was really fun seeing all the different sizes in one 12x12 album at the American Crafts booth at CHA.  So think outside the "norm" with this and you'll be pleasently surprised!

Look what I got in the mail...

 

Why you ask do I care about a Dutch Scrapbook Magazine???? Because I'M IN IT!!!  Yes, this is a shameless plug but I'm sooo excited!  It was a 4 page article on my "Life of Adventure" album!!

Here's some of the article... If you can translate Dutch for me let me know:

 

I won't bore you with all 4 pages but the article looks cool!  Now if I can get my Dutch friend over here to translate for me!  Petra??  are you listening?? ;)- 

I thought I would show you the album since i'm talking about it...

 

This is an album I did for the Clear Scraps booth at Summer CHA this past July.  It was so much fun to make and has our "around the world" story in it.  I obviously couldn't put everything in there but it was so neat to have a reminder of our once in a lifetime trip while I was making it!!  We were truly blessed to travel for half a year and build such lasting memories with our little family and the people we met along the way!

Here's a few pictures of the inside pages:

 

I took all the brand new Clear Scraps Jumbo shapes and cut them at graduated lengths and turned it into an album.  Then I edged each one with black to the shape would stand out more. 

I don't know if I told you this story but at CHA this past summer, this album was looked at a lot in the Clear Scraps booth.  One day, I came back from walking around the show and they told me that Teresa Collins wanted to meet me and wanted me to bring the album by her booth so she could see it because people were "talking about it"!!! Can you believe it???  That was so cool and she was so incredibly nice!  She has it out showing all her people and I even got a picture with her!  That was a fun day!

 

 

Oh...just seeing these pictures make me weepy...  I miss that trip so bad!  It was so special so spend half a year with just your little family.  People ask us if we got sick of eachother but we sooo didn't.  It was such a great chance to be together and experience the world  together.  My only sadness about it is that Isabella wasn't born yet so she can't share in the memories with us...  I guess we'll have to do it again some day!  Did you here that Lance???  (Sell those website hunny ;)-

O.k. now I'm in some wierd nostalgic mood...  I'll leave you with one more "travel" related idea.  Clear Scraps came out with these GREAT custom word books!!! You can make whatever word or words you want up to 8 letters.  I LOVE them and made one on ITALY for CHA and I thought I would show you it.  I  know some of you have seen it before if you've been keeping up on my blog for a while.  But I wanted to give you guys some ideas on what you could do with these custom word books!  I just ordered "PARIS" from them and I'm not stopping there.  You could do this for any trip you took; HAWAII, YOSEMITE, MEXICO, CANADA, EUROPE... the list goes on and on...

 

O.k... sorry this post is sooo long and full of pictures! 

I mailed off the first batch of kits today!  I will be mailing more out tomorrow since I have a lot more orders AND I'll be sending more out late on Thursday...before we leave for LA on friday morning...

I am SOLD OUT of the Kit #1 Very Vintage Halloween - Main Kit.  If you really, really wanted one, I do have 4 kits left that have SOME of that stuff in it but not complete sets.  Now I can add more things to make up for it, but they won't have exactly the same stuff as pictures shows.  Just email me if you are interested.

O.k... back to work... You should see my Dining room table!  I have rows of USPS boxes stacked 10 high!  I'm trying to get everything out in the morning so if you haven't ordered your kits yet, tonight would be a GREAT time!  I'm going to set up a pick up this time so we'll see how that works.  If I can't get one for the morning, then I'll just take my hubby's dolly with me to the post office and load it up!

My Design Team Rocks!!!

Happy Sunday to everyone!  I just got done uploading some things to the websites gallery and I wanted to share some more of them here too!

I'm still getting more examples from my AMAZING DT so keep checking back but here are just a few to share with you today...

This first album was done by Chrissy Le!  She has an amazing talent for design and as you can see she could probably be crowned the "Embellishment Queen"

O.k. one more and this is with the Kit #2, Not Your "Basic" Fall.  I did the mini album in the add-on kit and used a lot of the Basic Grey and Sassafras goodies!  It was really easy and I think you ladies will LOVE the new Milk Chocolate Albums!  I mean, what woman doesn't like the name "Milk Chocolate" and Scrapbooking combined! ;)-

So the rest of my day is going to be spent getting the boxes together to go out in the Morning!  I know I wanted to get the boxes out on the 3rd but that was a little to aggressive in my thinking!  I still have a ton of things to get together and I need to print out the mailing labels...  My goal is to get most all of the orders thus far out tomorrow though. 

There are still kits left!  I has a rush on some of the kits but I checked the supply and I'm not completely sold out on anything.  If you get the "sold out" page, just email me and I'll verify if I still have anything or not.  There are still quite a few ladies in the club you haven't ordered online yet.  Let me know if you plan on skipping this month or just haven't gotten around to it yet.  I don't want you to miss out on a kit you've had your eye on!

Oh, my oldest daughter Victoria is at the show Wicked right now!  She went with a priend and her mom to the Pantagese in LA.  I'm so jealous...  That show is soooo GREAT!

The Kits are complete!

Wow, I just finished putting the kits together!  That is very time consuming....  I even had my friend/cleaning lady/babysitter/now scrapbook kitter help me for a couple hours today and I still just got done!  But now I can focus on getting these kits out to you! 

The other MAJOR thing on my to-do list today was writing up all the descriptions of the kits on my website!  So, you can check out the kits/pictures/descriptions at: www.akissonthechic.com  You can't pay for them there (yet) so if you want to purchase a kit after looking at the descriptions over there just click on any one of the Paypal links and it will direct you to my blog. 

Another MAJOR thing I accomplished today is updating the Kit Club Gallery!!! I have to tell you these ladies are awesome!  I don't even have all the examples yet and I'm sooo thrilled with everything!  It's really cool to have them because I literally don't have time to make things anymore!  boo-hoo...I wanted to get things done yesterday so I could PLAY today but today was another work day!  Tomorrow is going to be a work day to and I have a doctors appt. so I'm hoping to play on the weekend!  I will update the gallery daily as I get more creative "goodies" from the Design Team so check back there regularly!

I know there's something else I wanted to mention but my brain is fried at this point... I need sleep, or coffee...

I'm almost sold out of a couple kits...

Just a quick update:  I am almost sold out of the Kit#1 Pink Paislee add-on kit AND the Kit#2 Extra Goodies.  I think I have only 1 or 2 left of each.  Paypal has a really cool new feature that alerts me when I'm low in inventory so when I get an email from them, I'll post it on here so everyone can be aware.  Now I think I might have 1 extra on the kits beside when Paypal says sold-out (my own back-up plan) so if you go to buy something and it says sold out, email me and I'll let you know if I still have the 1 back-up kit left or not!

I'm working on getting all the kits wrapped up tonight so I can PLAY tomorrow!! I don't have any pictures of the Kit#2 in the gallery since I just got the papers yesterday so I'd like to make a couple things real quick if I can find the time.  I'll let you know if I do and put a link up to the website when they are up!

Aren’t they perfect for the kits!  So each main kit will have 3-4 flowers in there!  It’s just easier for me to show you than to retake the pictures and post them…

So, I’ve had a few questions about the A Kiss on the Chic Kit Club so I thought I would go over a few things.  If you become a member here’s what you get:

1. Fabulous kits with a Vintage feel that I search long and hard to find unique and special items for!
2. Your name in this book:

1. $5.00 discount on the Main Kits and a little off the add-on kits
2. Email sent a couple days before the 1^st of the month reveal so you can see the kits first and start shopping for the 1^st of the month rush.
3. Great “customer service” with a smile by someone named Laura??
4. You can “opt out” two times in a twelve month plan.
5. If you must, you may cancel 2 weeks before the 1^st of the month.
6. Fun little added goodies (think sweets) and free added surprises sometimes…

So if you want to join, don’t feel like there is a HUGE commitment on your part.  If you feel like you can’t continue, just email me a couple weeks before the 1^st of the next months reveal and there will be no strings attached!

Now, I went out to dinner last night with my hubby of 19 years and we had a great time!  Thank you to everyone who emailed me or posted a Happy Anniversary note!  While we were talking at dinner, my hubby came up with a brilliant idea (he’s known for those) and I can’t wait to implement his idea!!!  He was telling me a few nights ago how my little business is taking up the whole house!  I wonder why he would think that…

 

 

So, last night at dinner his idea was to have a “mail center” made for me!  What’s that  you (and I) ask?  Well, it something made out of wood or metal that would have lots of slots the size of about 12x12 that would help me organize prepping the kits!  So I’d have like 100 “slots” in the thing and we figured out it would be about maybe 5ft x 5ft and have 100 slots in it!  I could then make my kits in this “mail center” instead of having to spread out all across the house!  Pretty cool huh??  I LOVE the idea and I’m going to call a guy that does wood cabinets and see if he can make me one!!!

Well, I promised myself I would go exercise before I started my day… (didn’t happen yet) but I’m going to go do it now and then I’ll come back down and enter the descriptions of all the kits onto my website as well as the pictures I have so far for the gallery!!
