A Kiss on the Chic

Love, Tuesday...

It's a few days late, but I hope everyone had a very BLESSED Resurrection Day!  We enjoyed a nice day at my mom and dads with some of my mom's side of the family and even though it wasn't as big of a group as last year (about 40, including my brother's family) we had a nice low-key time with everyone!  When you live about an hour away from family, it's times like Sunday that you treasure that time with them.  In fact, I was it was SO low-key and relaxing, I forgot to take pictures!  lol...  I had my camera out for about 5 minutes and that's it.  So here's just a couple pictures for our day:

Since we didn't have the 14 kids like last year, I made ALL my girls go outside and look for eggs! lol...

So they basically just helped Isabella find them all.  (except for a few to eat themselves, no doubt)

Oh, THIS is what brings JOY to my heart!  I still have one girl who finds SO much happiness in the little things like Easter Egg Hunting!!

I'm bummed we didn't take a family photo.  It's time I find someone to professionally take our photo.  I don't think we've ever had one since Isabella was born!  How terrible...  

Now about that layout I mentioned above...

If you've seen Victoria's hair above, you've noticed that she went back to a brunette. Well, I MADE her let me take a couple pictures of her "blond moment" and so she's not happy I made a LO with one of those pictures, but I think it's pretty!

 

I DO like her hair back to brunette, but this layout will document her venture into the world of hair "mistakes" that we ALL make!  It's also documented with some VERY pretty papers and embellishments from Webster's Pages!  Here I've used their new Ladies & Gents line with some trims and blooms and fun embellishments!  You can purchase these products online at Two Peas in a Bucket or Scrapbook.com now!  They just arrived at both online stores and you can ALSO see all the Webster's Pages DT examples at those sites or at WP website!

This week is a BUSY week for me as I get ready to leave for Melrose Vintage!  I'm SO excited to be teaching at their store this weekend and I'm glad to have my friend Cindy Earnest join me on this FUN roadtrip!  We are going to have a BLAST and I hope to see some of you there!

I'm also going to be working on another class at Paper Tales!  This one will be my TRAVEL JOURNAL with the new 7 Gypsies Lille line!  Have you seen this line yet?  Oh my, it's SO "me" and I'm SO excited to get working on this journal book!  It will be a GREAT journal class and I've been HOARDING some great things for this class!!   I'll also take some more pictures of my Sandcastle album while I'm down at PT so I can share that with you!

Lastly, I THANK YOU for taking the time to check out my Etsy Shop!  Everyone has been SO kind and said such nice things about it!  I will be adding more things after my Melrose Vintage weekend and will also give you details about Victoria's shop!  She's made about 10 headbands so far and they are like nothing I've ever seen!  So PROUD of her!

Melrose Vintage event is NEXT WEEKEND!!

Wow, how did that SNEAK up on me??

If you haven't signed up and want to take the classes, you can call Melrose Vintage at (602) 636-0300 and sign up TODAY!  I'm not sure how many spots they have left, but they will take sign-ups until it's sold out.

On Friday night, the 29th at 5:30pm I will be teaching my "History of Us" class:

This class will have TWO COLOR CHOICES.  This pink version

This Charcoal Grey version!  I've created TWO different styles of front covers as well so that you will be able to see how you can create this album in many different ways!  I will have BOTH examples at the class and you can copy either one EXACTLY as is, or create your own ONE-OF-A-KIND album!

On Spring Break...

Hi everyone!

I'm just checking in to let you know that my girls are keeping me WAY too busy this Easter Break! :)  Whatever happened to "entertain yourself" these days?  Monday was our mall and a movie for Rebecca and a friend, yesterday way a long day up in Pasadena for another dentist appointment for Victoria (and she brought a friend) and then shopping and dinner.  

So TODAY is one of those "entertain yourself" days! 

I'm SO behind of some designs for Clear Scraps, some DT work and I want to get started on my Travel Journal class!

But before I go, I thought I would share with you my Sports Edition layouts from Teresa Collins Designs  We can share our designs now that we are making room for some of the BRAND NEW designs Teresa is coming up with!!

This first one is of my hubby getting the Inc. 5000 award in Washington D.C.!

Here's a layout of our trip to Chicago and I think it shows how you can use Teresa's products for just about ANY theme.  So think OUT OF THE BOX when you look at her lines.  Even though it says "Sports" in the line, you really can use it for other things than just SPORTS pages...

Now here is something totally dedicated to SPORTS.  I made this banner with her Sports line and the new Pennant album from Clear Scraps .  It actually has more pennants in the album, but I used another one to make this:

I simply turned it in the other direction, put a small dowel behind it and glue it and then strung some ribbon through the holes to keep it sturdy!  This would be such a FUN thing to bring to a game to cheer your "SPORTY" kid on!!!

And here is a mini album I did for Rebecca.  This is dedicated to her Volleyball season and it FILLED with lots of "mixed-media" pages.  I've added chipboard, acrylic and cardboard in this album and it's one of my FAV albums!!

Here's another PEAK into the album.  I really LOVE these new chipboard album shapes from TC.  They really give you so much freedom to create whatever you want with it!

Here's a layout of Rebecca.  I'm so glad she LOVED Volleyball and plans to try out again next year!

This layout I used the negative space from the TEAM letters I used on the Pennant Banner.  I cut the letters out of my Expression by Cricut and then I had this piece of paper and thought I'd cut it out for a title on this layout.  I simply added the star paper behind it and Viola.... a great title!!  And since I have ALL GIRLS, I had to had some TC Blingage to my layouts!!  Notice the black rhinestones above the ribbon??

Well, I hope you like these projects and something may INSPIRE you to make some layouts or projects for your SPORTY family member!!

For those who took my class today...

 THANK YOU!

I had a GREAT time and I will have the instructions up tomorrow and email each of you that gave me your email address!  I was just sitting down to write them and realized that I didn't take pictures of the inside pages of the album!  oops... So I have to take those in the daylight tomorrow and then I will write everything out.  Most everyone finished the class project though so that's good!

 

And for those who weren't able to take the class but would like the project kit...

I will be putting the kits I have left (I think about 5) in my Etsy Shop tomorrow!

I haven't had a chance to put up anything in my Etsy shop this week yet, so I will try to put some other things I have in there as well!

I also have a NEW class I'm teaching at Paper Tales on May 20th!  Unfortunately, I was so excited to bring it today...that I forgot to take pictures of it!  So I will be begging Michelle to take a picture so I can share on here!  It's a SANDCASTLE acrylic album from Clear Scraps and Webster's Pages new Nautical line of papers and embellishments and it's SO cute!!  I'll share more on that soon...

Love, Tuesday...

Hello Sunshine!

Finally the rain has passed and I think we are headed towards Springtime!  It really makes me realize how much I love the SUN and probably wouldn't do too well in a city like Seattle... 

This past weekend I was working like crazy getting a TON of DT work done.  Teresa Collins has had a "mid-release" and we've been making samples for her to share.  I can show you one that she's already shown on her blog, but the rest I will need to wait until she shares them...

This die-cut page is from her BRAND NEW 12x12 Notations line!  I LOVE that this line is SO versatile with the black and beige because you can make it "pop" with any colors you like!  Believe me, the whole DT has been doing some AMAZING things with this line and I know YOU will love it too!  On this LO of Rebecca and her friend, I used some other lines from Teresa as well... I used some "Freestyle" and some "Posh" to add some fun color and had fun with lots of "girly" embellishments!

I think I made about 6 layouts this past weekend AND two mini Easter baskets!  I'll share the baskets soon...  One of the baskets will be on Websters Pages tomorrow...

So thank you ladies for all your helpful storage tips!  I really think all these ideas are SO valuable and we can all take some ideas from here and use them!  I love hearing what everyone does in their rooms and since I'm still working on mine, I can definitely do some of these things as well!

Today I'm taking Victoria BACK to the hair salon...  We all had our hair done last Thursday after school and she wanted to get some blond streaks in her hair.  Well, she had it ALL figured out, pictures to show, explanation ready... And well... here is the result:

So this was what turned out... and she hates it!  Now I don't think it looks that bad, but she has come to realize that she is not that adventurous after all!  lol  

She wants to go back to her brown REALLY bad, so today we are getting it fixed.  This picture actually makes it look really nice, but in reality it's quite bold b/c those streaks in front are just SOME of the large streaks throughout her hair.   My girl is so funny!  She's a beauty either way, but I know how it feels to have your hair make you feel like you look terrible...

Before I go though... a few announcements:

Hey, is it Spring yet in your part of the world?  We've had such crazy weather I don't think the flowers know what to do yet... We've had upwards of 90 degree weather than down to 40 in the past couple weeks!  

It's going to rain here but I hope you're enjoying some Spring Sunshine this weekend!

 

It's DONE!!

I'm so happy with the results...

 

I could probably play with it LOTS more, (and I will be) but I took some pictures of it now to share with you!

So here's the BEFORE of the countertop on the side with the sink and laundry:

It's got JUST what I need on it and I'm happy my new toy has a home now!

I have my typesetter box from London hanging on the wall and some great vintage items in glass jars.  

I should probably take pictures of a few things closer up so you can see what I did for storage...  

Here's what I have in the cupboards above.  I went through EACH one and re-organized them...

Notice how little space I have for actual laundry items... hehehe

Here's another angle looking at this area from the far corner of the room closest to the door to the backyard.  (I have 3 doors in this room )  The door you see goes out into the garage to an area of the garage that I ALSO use as my scrap space!  It has cabinets out there and all my christmas storage is out there as well as more scrappy supplies!  

I put up a shelf above the door and decided to line up some mini albums I've created.  I like the look and it makes me feel better knowing  they're not just in boxes...

Notice Scarlet's bed is still in here... But where is she??

There she is!  It's so funny... if I ever leave a laundry basket on the floor and leave the room, she climbs in it and takes a nap.  Here she is just waking up as I took the photo!

Unfortunately, I had to keep the two storage units under the table.  They house SO  much stuff, I just couldn't get rid of them...  The black one holds are my ephemera, stickers, letter stickers, etc.  And the white one w/3 drawers houses each of my DT's papers and such.  

and here's the rack right next to the dryer and the door to the backyard...

Now here's some close-ups of this space:

 

 This is a old tin container that I decided to store all my "hoarded" papers!  I've had some of these papers for YEARS and some are from Italy!

The green storage unit on the table with the baskets is a NEW vintage find!  I'm telling you it is such a GREAT storage unit!  Maybe I'll take a picture of what's inside later...

 

Here you can see the table I chose.  It was SO much cheaper then the other ones I looked at and it is vintage.  I just felt it was more sturdy than the other ones and even though I'm not crazy about the light yellow color b/c it matches my wall too much, I may paint it a teal blue some day...  The vintage mail box on my table was another new find and it stores all my misc. tools... LOVE it.

 

The lighting on this picture isn't good but I wanted to share anyways.  I'm so loving all the storage and possibility to make CUTE!!   I have SO much to share on all my little "things"  on here.  First, I'm SO glad I had room to display my ADORABLE crafty bag from my friend Kim Caldwell !  My little Isabella is the one tat put that here and I tell ya, she has such a good eye for design!  Thanks sweetie...

The two glass jars at the top are from Ikea but I put Pink Paislee 's new chalkboard stickers on them and wrote on them.  They look SO cute!!  I want to get a long and narrow basket to go in between the two jars (where the green shoe is) for more storage...

And again, this is still a work in progress and things like the blue antique frame and the dress form still need some TLC soon...

I also want to make some tags from some of the baskets and magazine holders... and add some more color to the other side of the room...and...well you get the point.  I don't think it will be ever DONE.  (so just ignore this blog post title now that I think about it...) lol

Now before I go actually WORK in my crafty space...

Sorry, no "Love, Tuesday" post today...

It's late here and still no post today.

I was up in Pasadena all day with Victoria meeting with a special dentist to talk about a surgery she needs to have soon.  Not a fun process for her and a lot of extensive work so just pray that all will go well and in a year from now she will have a beautiful mouth and everything will be done!

I've also been busy clearing out EVERYTHING from my scrap room so I can re-do it!  It was a bit crazy of me to do this right now with everything else going on, but I'm VERY happy to say that it is almost complete!

Here's a few "before" pictures:

a VERY big mess and this is just SOME of it...You can see that I was working on an old folding table and had WAY too much stuff on the table!  This layout just wasn't working for me...

I took EVERYTHING off of the counters on this side and then cleared just about EVERYTHING out of the room:

some of the stuff on the wall even had to go!

Then I had a GREAT helper help me with some new furniture...

and I finally found an antique table...

and...

I will "REVEAL" the NEW ROOM very soon!!  I can say that it's MORE than I had hoped for in such a small space and I'm feeling SO excited to start CREATING in my new space!!
