Yeah... I remembered to do a blog post on Tuesday! hahaha (that's my life right now)
Well, we are ALL in the THICK of the Season and I know there's a million things on your list this week. I just wanted to come on here and say:
We will ALL get through it and before you know it we will be taking down the Christmas Decorations and thinking our house is so empty and quiet...
Now in the search for this "Keep Calm" picture on Pinterest, I came upon quite a few other ones that I thought it would be fun to share. Boy, there are some CRAZY ones out there. It looks like people have taken off with this tag line, just look at these:
Oh, they've been to my house...
This one is truly calming. Sitting with that knowledge, you truly can be CALM.
Now back to the one about scrapbooking...
As most of you know I haven't been "scrapbooking" much lately. I gave up the time consuming act of doing 12x12 layouts with one picture and $20+ in supplies and countless hours trying to perfect this tiny masterpiece!
BUT,
I still want to capture our families memories with our photos and ephemera and journaling. How I'm going to do that is still in the design process. I don't like the Project Life so much and gave that a try but it's to limiting to me with all the different shaped page protectors with their horizontal and vertical limitations... I don't want to do a gazillion mini albums and have them all over the house and not in one cohesive place. I do like the Smash book and am considering the larger sized one, but it's VERY random in it's pages and I wonder if this will get me out of order in my mind and how well will these hold up over time? (I do use the smaller version and am happy with the fast way I can journal and put our instagram photos and ephemera in them.
So... I've decided to do something "out of the box" again. I approached a company about my idea and they mentioned they were doing something similar to this but I don't know if I've really seen it yet. But I'm going to just do it on my own and see what happens.
I'll share pictures of it soon b/c I'm not really trying get my own "line", I simply want to come up with something that works for ME and hopefully other people will like it too. I'll probably do this as a class somewhere in the beginning on 2013 and I'm going to be working on it over Christmas Break so I'll share more on it in January. I'm REALLY excited about it and even if it's just something I do, and works for me... I'm THRILLED!
I am going to backtrack a little and tell you that I DID do a 12x12 layout yesterday!! No, I'm not regressing... I just wanted to help out where I could and the Scrap 365 Magazine that I contribute to was in need of some layouts for their December Sketch. So here's a little SNEAK on my layout:
It should be on their blog soon. By the way, Scrap 365 is a GREAT magazine and if you haven't already checked it out, go take a look! It's my FAV magazine out there b/c it's really more artsy and more my style than any other one out there. They've just announced that they are going to be changing things a little due to customer requests and now it will be an every other month magazine that will be bigger, better and cheaper!! So check it out and sign up their subscription.
By the way, the one page layout I did... under 30 minutes and I used all stuff I had in the house. No stressing out, didnt cost a lot and I like how it turned out!
Have a GREAT Tuesday,
Laura
FYI... After the Holidays I will be going into more details on the Arizona Retreat. There are still some spots open for BOTH the Arizona and the Italy retreats, so make sure you check out my other blog, A Kiss on the Chic's Creative Retreats or email me any questions you may have!
