Hello, my name is Laura McCollough and I'm tired of paying $15 a month for this blog.
So, since Blogger is free and so is my hubby's website (he's making it all cool for me and will have everything in one place), I'm going to be signing off this blog VERY soon.
But before I do, I wanted to do a really DEEP and HEAVY POST. Well, as deep and heavy as is possible for me. :)
I have a question for you.
WHERE DO SINNERS GO?
Oh, I know... this one IS deep and you're probably thinking I'm going to say Hell, but your wrong. What I'm going to say is Life Changing. It's what I've been trying to explain to many people in my life and just couldn't figure out how to say it.
The answer:
They go to church.
I am no where NEAR perfect and neither are you. No one is. But I feel like people in my life or just on the outskirts of my life may think that. (well, maybe not about my grammar :) We all fall short... every day.
So I was reading my devotional today, it's called "Our Daily Bread" and you can get it free through RBC Ministries, and it started with this question and when I read the answer I thought... How TRUE, how simple and why didn't I think of that yesterday?
I have someone in my life that comes over every couple weeks and is going through some hard times. She wants to go to church but doesn't feel like she will be accepted. She feels like she's made some wrong choices and is having some pretty hard concequenses. Hello?? We all make mistakes. But why couldn't I say this simple thing to show her that CHURCH is full of sinners. Because Romans 3:23 says: "for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." That's not just "some" of us, not just those terrible neighbors down the street... no. All of us sin. We make bad choices, don't talk to our kids the way we want to, forget to be kind, think horrible things, think way to much about ourselves... the list goes on and on from there.
So I want to remember to say that to everyone in my life and who I may talk with about my FAITH.
Church is a place to come together and be THANKFUL for what Christ did for us. It should be a place where we can come together and share about our shortcomings and be accepted. No matter what. I pray that I can be that person who fully understands this too. Because the GOOD NEWS IS: GRACE
"For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith, and this is NOT of yourself, it is a GIFT from God." Ephesians 2:8
That is the BEST gift anyone could every get and how GREAT is that??
I hope I can remember to share this simple truth and help others to not feel like you have to be "sinnless" to go to church. We are there to THANK Him for this, THANK Him for accepting us, and THANK Him for his forgiveness and THANK Him for loving us. No matter what.
My devotion ended with this:
A church is a hospital for sinners, not a club for saints.
Amen to that.
Hugs,
Laura
Absolutely perfect Laura=-I love that you are using this platform and sharing this! Blessings- and AMEN

that is perfect! I am going to print out that saying. Anyway your friend will not have a poster to carry saying all her sins God accepts everyone. Ok I hope all goes well but in the meantime you can talk to her and read with her about God. About Blogger hey I wound up paying money every month after a while they send you a message saying you do not have photo space. Seems to be the issue lately but I am sure the price is very low and for the meantime you will be new and post as much as you like for free. Grace xoox
