August 20th and the kiddo's are already back in school. This is just too early for me! What happened to the kids having summer until AFTER Labor Day?
It seems like we just got back from our summer trips and they went back to school. Well, actually we did... We had about a week from when we came home from Michigan to when they started school. So we tried to pack as much FUN into that week as possible. Here's what we packed in those few days:
A One Direction Concert!
Great floor seats that they've be looking forward to for a VERY long time...
Yes, the moms braved the concert too.
We didn't know they were going to be so close!!
The girls snapping photos. Notice how close the security is.
Then we headed to Little Italy for a day down in our favorite part of San Diego.
Lunch at Napizza is always good! Their organic and locally grown menu is great.
The girls always want to come down here because everyone speaks Italian!
Yummy Lasagna pizza!
Isabella wanted me to take a photo of the chairs in Little Italy. :)
Then we had Volleyball tryouts for school and guess who made the VARISTY team? Yep, our freshman girl! Way to go Rebecca, so proud of your hard work!
Here's the Varisty team photo.
Did a little CAR shopping this week too! When we got the Jeep Patriot a couple years ago we knew it was going to be Rebecca's car eventually. But with it only having 5 seats and not enough room for all the carpooling I need to do we are looking for a bigger (7 or 8 seat) SUV/Crossover for me, sooner then later.
Did some car shopping with this crazy girl...
She wants me to get this, but I don't think there's 7 seats in this! hahaha Not sure what I'm going to get yet, but looking at a few options...
Then it was time to get Rebecca registered for High School! How did that happen? I just got one out of High School and now one is starting HS! boohoo... Time is flying by.
So we took advantage of a beautiful weekend and went to the beach!
And made a nice stop at Sprinkles. They now have an ICE-CREAM store in Newport Beach that has amazing ice-cream AND you can have it inbetween one of their delicious cupcakes!! I'm coming back here after my Europe trip so I can indulge in one! (I was good and didn't have any :)
Then the last day before school started we went to Ponte Winery for lunch after church. Why was this the first time we came out here the whole summer? It was SO beautiful and relaxing and we live right here and never think to come out to the wine country!
Here's the girls at Ponte in a forced photo they didn't want to take. hahaha... They're tired of a momma who always wants to "record" life.
And here we are... 1st day of school, 2013~ Isabella's in 4th Grade
And Rebecca's a Freshman....
I have a feeling these next 4 years are going to whiz by and I'm going to be sending off this one to college soon. sniff, sniff... I MUST slow down and enjoy the moments because life is going by at a much faster pace then I want it to!
Victoria starts college on next Monday and I know I'm going to be having such mixed emotions that day. I know it's such an exciting time for her and I'm so excited to see where the Lord leads her in her life, but it's hard letting go. It's an end of an era with all my babies at HOME and it's not easy to send them off into the world. I know she has a great head on her shoulders and has such incredible plans that are in the process for her future. But it sure is hard not to worry. Lots of praying will be going on for sure!
Hope your week is great! Are you're kiddos back to school yet? I think I need to start figuring out what I'm going to do with my time now that school is back.
Hugs to all,
Laura
